Infrared Sauna FAQ's

The heat from the infrared sauna is very gentle.  Infrared saunas heat the body directly and traditional saunas heat the air.  The heat from the infrared sauna is able to penetrate the body, so it is 7 times more effective at detoxifying the body than traditional saunas.  Infrared saunas can produce a sweat composed of 20% toxins from raising the body’s core temperature.  Traditional saunas are only able to produce a sweat composed of 3% toxins.

Infrared heat is 100% safe.  Infrared does not emit harmful UV rays.  The human body is made to accept and emit infrared.  It is healthy for all living things.  The hospitals use infrared heat to warm newborn infants.

This all depends on your comfort level.  You will be in a private room and towels will be provided for you.  Covered skin sweats less freely than exposed skin. If you feel more comfortable wearing clothes, the best type of clothes is an oversize t-shirt, loose-fitting cotton wrap, and shorts.  These types of clothes allow your skin to breathe freely.  They will also allow excess heat to be absorbed.  It is recommended to always dress in clean clothes right before getting in the sauna.
